New opportunities for the nation's farmers.

1. Fast-track planning permission for a small number of new homes on all farmsteads.

2. Fast-track planning approval for wind farms using turbines of agreed design.

3. Capital grants for the installation of solar photo-voltaic cells for commercial power generation on any farm building.

4. Substantial new funding for conversions to organic farming.

5. Reform of agricultural subsidies - a transfer from supporting production to i) supporting environmental stewardship and ii) supplementing low incomes.

6. Support for rural enterprises, producer and consumer co-operatives, and farmers' markets.

7. Some agricultural chemicals will be phased out, some will be taxed and some will be rationed (per hectare basis).
